Hey there!
It's that time of the year again—the season of travel, exploration, and creating memories with our little ones. As we prepare for our family escapades, one of the tasks that always tops my list is packing snacks. Trust me, a well-packed snack bag can be the superhero of any journey, whether it's a road trip, a flight, or a day of sightseeing.
Join me as I share some of my favorite go-to snacks, tried-and-tested by my own squad of snack enthusiasts. These goodies are not just delicious but also packed with the energy and nutrition our little travelers need to keep their spirits high and their energy levels soaring.
1. DIY Snack Packs
When it comes to snack packs, I like to get creative! I grab some reusable containers or snack bags and fill them with a variety of treats. My favorite snack containers to use on the go are @Mothercould's snack boxes, there are adjustable compartments and even includes dissolvable labels to easily determine which container belongs to each child.
Here's a winning combination that always gets thumbs up from my crew:
Trail Mix: A mix of nuts, dried fruits, and a few chocolate chips for that sweet touch.
String Cheese & Crackers: Easy to munch on and a good source of protein.
Pretzels & Hummus Cups: A crunchy delight with a side of creamy goodness.
2. Fresh Fruit Galore
Nature's candy, as I like to call it! Fresh fruits are a must-have in our snack arsenal. I opt for easy-to-eat varieties like:
Apple Slices: Pair them with a small container of peanut butter for a satisfying treat.
Grapes: Frozen grapes are a hit during warmer travels.
Bananas: A snack that comes with its own convenient packaging!
Berries: Sweet berries freshly sliced are great on a warm day!

3. Veggie Power
Let's not forget our veggie-loving munchkins! Packing veggies doesn't have to be boring. Try these crowd-pleasers:
Carrot Sticks & Hummus: Classic combo, always a winner.
Cucumber Slices: So refreshing, especially on a hot day.
Cherry Tomatoes: Sweet bursts of flavor that pop in your mouth.

4. Homemade Goodies
For a touch of home, I often whip up some homemade treats that are both healthy and indulgent:
Granola Bars: Packed with oats, nuts, and dried fruits. Perfect for a quick energy boost.
Mini Muffins: Blueberry, banana, or zucchini—take your pick!
5. Hydration Station
Staying hydrated is key during travels, so I always pack reusable water bottles. Sometimes, I jazz up our hydration game with:
Infused Water: Cucumber and mint, lemon and berries—hydrating and refreshing!
Our favorite water bottles:
Keep in mind that when travelling on a airplane, during takeoff and landing, the pressure in the water bottle builds up causing the water bottle to seem to explode so when opening the water bottle be sure to open it facing away from you.
Bonus Tip: Snack Time Strategy
To avoid the dreaded "I'm hungry" chorus every five minutes, I set designated snack times during our journey. This not only helps in portion control but also adds a fun routine to our adventure.
So, fellow mom adventurers, gear up with these snack-packing ideas and get ready to conquer the world (or at least the next family road trip)! Remember, a well-fed kiddo is a happy traveler, and happy travelers make the best memories.
Here's to delicious adventures and snack-filled journeys!
Cheers,
Adina
